Joyful Wellbeing Boosts for care homes, retirement homes, and sheltered housing across North West England
Laughter, song, and play that bring your residents to life – dementia-friendly, chair-based, and adapted to every ability.
We bring smiles and memories to linger long after the session ends.

You know your residents best. You see the ones who light up at a singalong, the ones who prefer to watch from the edge of the room, and the ones who’ve been quieter lately, or asleep for much of the day. Planning activities that suit different abilities, moods and levels of mobility, week after week, takes real care and creativity.
It can be hard to find something that feels fresh, includes everyone, and leaves the whole room feeling lighter afterwards. That’s exactly why I created the Joyful Wellbeing Boost – the feeling of joy and the memories of the session last, like an instant holiday.
A Joyful Wellbeing Boost is a seated session of laughter, song and play, made for residents in care homes and sheltered housing. Gentle, accessible, and designed to lift the whole room in minutes. There’s no pressure to join in – watching and listening is just as welcome, and the smiles come anyway.

What happens in a Joyful Wellbeing Boost:

What Residents Get From It
Sessions are 30, 45, or 60 minutes long. We usually see sleepy residents wake up and gently start taking part within 5 minutes. Currently being delivered in the North West.
Take Your Residents On A Holiday In Their Chair!
Ready to bring joy to your care home or sheltered housing?
Why care homes and sheltered housing schemes book me Repeatedly:
Where this began
This work started with my dad. At 92, after a fall landed him in hospital over Christmas, I brought a puppet along on Christmas Day to cheer him up. What happened next stayed with me: it wasn’t only Dad who brightened. The other patients did too, and so did the staff. A bit of joy on what can be a lonely day for so many.
Dad looks forward to every visit as we use different puppets alongside chair dancing, and he lights up every time. That’s what these sessions are really about – not filling time, but bringing special moments of connection and lightness to people who don’t always get enough of them. Joy, it turns out, doesn’t retire.
I’m an FHT-Accredited Laughter Yoga Teacher, Museum of Happiness Facilitator, and Comedy on Prescription Certified Facilitator, and I’ve been delivering joy since 2016 – because I love seeing the difference in a room before and after.
When did you last see one of your residents smile, wake up, and remember feeling like they’re on holiday? Let’s make that an everyday thing.

Frequently asked questions
Are the sessions suitable for residents living with dementia?
Yes. The sessions are dementia-friendly by design. There’s nothing to remember; taking part or listening or watching is just as beneficial. No one can get it wrong, so residents at every stage can join in and feel included.
Do residents need to be mobile?
Not at all. Sessions are chair-based and seated-friendly. Residents take part however suits them, from full movement to a smile and a clap.

Sessions come in 30, 45 or 60 minutes, with seated options throughout, and are tailored to your home. I’ll talk through group size, timing, and room set-up with you when you enquire, so it fits your residents and your day.

Sunny is absolutely wonderful!

The tenants in our Sheltered Housing very much enjoyed participating and we felt the session encouraged them in a positive manner to engage in gentle activity. The session was on Friday it is now Monday and those who participated are still upbeat and discussing amongst themselves what they did and how funny it was.
