Make Life Easier: Inner Wisdom for You

Life throws challenges at us daily, doesn’t it? The pressure can feel relentless, whether you are running your own business, working within a service organisation, or in a caring role. But here’s a piece of inner wisdom that’s transformed how I approach each day: “Make life easier.”

It sounds almost too simple, but this three-word mantra has become my daily compass for wellbeing.

Every morning, I ask myself: “How can I make life easier today?”

The Ups and Downs of Life

Let’s be honest – life is simultaneously tough and fantastic. When challenges arise (and they will), or when you find yourself in what I like to call a “situation” (you know the ones!), pause and ask yourself:

  • What can I do to make this easier?
  • Who can I ask for help?
  • Can I afford to put something in place to ease the pressure?

Small Changes, Big Impact

Sometimes the simplest solutions create the most significant relief. Here are practical examples that busy professionals often overlook:

Save yourself time and stress by ordering a taxi instead of circling for parking spots. The few extra pounds spent can save your sanity and precious time.

Don’t struggle alone. Ask friends or colleagues for help with tasks like moving furniture or brainstorming solutions. Most people genuinely want to help when asked directly.

Be practical about nutrition. When time is short, grab a nutritious lunch en route rather than adding food shopping and cooking to your already packed schedule.

Tackle procrastination head-on. Consider co-working online platforms (such as www.Flown.com) to create accountability and focus when struggling to start tasks.

Use technology wisely. A password manager eliminates countless minor frustrations and security worries – one less thing to remember!

The Power of Perspective

Here’s something crucial I’ve learnt: you don’t need to feel happy to benefit from life-easing strategies. When we’re overwhelmed, our instinct is often to push harder, work longer, or take on more. But what if the answer is to step back and ask, “How can I make this easier?”

This shift in thinking isn’t about taking shortcuts or being lazy—it’s about working smarter, not harder. It’s about recognising that struggling unnecessarily doesn’t make you more dedicated; it just makes you more exhausted.

Laugh Off the Mishaps

Remember that laughter can be your secret weapon when things go wrong (and they will). Those inevitable mishaps and unexpected challenges? They’re part of the human experience. Learning to laugh them off, even when you don’t feel happy, can transform your resilience and perspective.

Your Turn

What’s your go-to inner wisdom? Do you have a phrase or question that helps you navigate difficult moments?

Remember, making life easier isn’t selfish – it’s essential for your mental health and physical health. When you ease pressure, you show up better for your business, colleagues, and loved ones.
